NEW WORK IN ALMERE
korth tielens wins the competition for elderly housing in De Wierden in Almere commissioned by De Alliantie. De Wierden is the oldest neighbourhood in the newest city of the Netherlands. It consists of low density housing and large green zones. The photo shows the environment of the morning walk the new residents of the building will enjoy.

OPENING SBWU
Integrated in the housing block Leidsche Rijn are 24 appartments for protected housing and a care center for the SBWU. We celebrated the opening of the care unit with the very kind words of Jan Berndsen, chief of the SBWU, stating the importance integration of care functions in the city.

MOCK UP SCHINKELSCHERM A10
The sound barrier at the Amsterdam ring A10 will be completed this summer. We are very happy with the mock up fabriced by Steinfort Glas now showing the reflection of the manufactory, but this summer at location showing the sky and some planes passing by to the inhabitants of the large number of houseboats facing the sound barrier.

LEIDSCHE RIJN IN BD
Ellis Woodman wrote an article in British magazine Building Design about housing project Leidsche Rijn. The project is a part of the VINEX estates. "From outside the block appears to belong firmly within the tradition of buildings such as Vienna's Karl Max Hof or the Adam brothers' Adelphi in London - projects that make palaces of mass housing."

WINNAAR SELECTIE KNOOPPUNT HOEVELAKEN
korth tielens architecten en DS landschapsarchitecten winnen selectie voor het maken van het dossier ruimtelijke kwaliteit en vormgeving knooppunt Hoevelaken in opdracht van Rijkswaterstaat. De A1 en de A28 die samenkomen in knooppunt Hoevelaken bij Amersfoort, worden verbreed, waardoor kunstwerken, bermen, verlichting en geluidsschermen aangepast of vernieuwd moeten worden. In samenwerking met DS landschapsarchitecten is een visie ontwikkeld op basis waarvan de ruimtelijke kwaliteitseisen voor dit project beschreven zullen worden.

LOMMERRIJK KOLENKITBUURT NOMINATED FOR THE AMSTERDAM ARCHITECTURE PRIZE 2011-2012
Residential building Lommerrijk in the 'Kolenkitneighbourhoud' in the West of Amsterdam is nominated by ARCAM, the Amsterdam Centre for Architecture, for the Amsterdam Architectural Prize, the golden A.A.P 2012. February this year a jury consisting of Indira van 't Klooster, Fredie Floré and Laurens Jan ten Kate will choose a winner. The project is part of the restructuring of the Kolenkit neighbourhood in the West of Amsterdam and is part of an ensemble of which the following blocks are designed by Wingender Hovenier Architecten. FOGGY BRIDGE
Bridge Overhoeks north of the IJ in Amsterdam is the first connection towards the new developments of the 'Noordelijke IJ-oevers', such as the EYE filmmuseum and housing at the former Shell area now called Overhoeks .
